"Could not read all configuration files" error on Mikrotik

If when trying to do a backup on a Mikrotik router and you get this error in the terminal and log:

"backup,critical error creating backup file: could not read all configuration files"

The fix is to simply regenerate your SSH key with this command:

/ip ssh regenerate-host-key

Most Mikrotik routers have switch chips. On most models you can use the switch chip to mirror a port to another port on the same switch chip. On the RB1100AHx2 there are two Atheros 8327 switch chips. One is ports eth1-eth5 and the other is eth6-eth10. Mikrotik has a wiki page on what models have which switch chip, and what is supported . Mikrotik lack of space or full drive and the fix

This one is a tricky bug that I've ran into. If you hit this, when you go to Files, you will see much more used space than what you're using. Often not enough unused space to upgrade. Here's how to fix it. You need the fix_space.npk file. It's currently hosted here: https://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/fix_space.npk I mirrored it here if it disappears: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=34175859663734277043 Use it like a normal upgrade. Just put/drag it into your files then reboot your Mikrotik router. After the reboot you'll see your free space is normal.

Cygwin with the new Windows Terminal

Windows Terminal is a new slick looking terminal for Windows. Here is how to get Cygwin added to it. 1. Install it from Microsoft. https://aka.ms/terminal 2. Open it and select the down arrow button. Go to Settings. 3. "Add a new profile" > "+New empty profile" 4.Name it whatever you want. Probably "Cygwin" might be good. 5. Set "Command line" to wherever your Cygwin.bat is. Default should be C:\cygwin64\Cygwin.bat 6. Save. Now your new Cygwin shell should show up as an option. All done! If you want you can set it as your default profile in "Settings".
